Brittany Ward is a weather forecaster and weather producer with the DC Weather Now Team. You’ll find her on DC News Now Saturdays and Sundays between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m., as well as other days during the week.
Before coming to the DMV, Brittany worked at WVNS in Beckley, W.Va. There, she covered a variety of stories from across the Mountain State. Those included stories that informed people about severe weather and how to stay safe when severe weather hits.
Brittany grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia and graduated from Temple University with her B.A. in Media Studies and Production. While in college, Brittany worked at Temple Update, a college newscast, as a reporter and weather producer. She tracks her passion for weather to a defining moment that came on a summer day before her senior year at Temple. On that day, she saw a shelf cloud develop over the Philadelphia skyline, and within minutes, a sunny day turned into a stormy one.
Brittany currently attends Mississippi State University from which she will receive her certificate in Broadcast and Operational Meteorology.
When Brittany is not working, she loves to hang out with her friends and family or travel. She enjoys exploring new places and is looking forward to seeing what the DMV has to offer. So, if you know a cool place or museum, feel free to send it her way!
