Leonard N. Fleming

Leonard N. Fleming joins DC News Now following an extended and award-winning career in newspapers. He joined the team in June 2022.

He will report primarily on politics and government. Before turning to television, Leonard had worked at The Detroit News, The Chicago Sun-Times, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Indianapolis Star and The Houston Post.

Among the more notable subjects Leonard’s reported on exclusively: The Benton Harbor, Mich., drinking water crisis as well as the water crisis in Flint, Mich. And the federal corruption probes of city halls in both Detroit and Philadelphia and key interviews in Philadelphia’s Center City rapist case. He’s also covered presidential campaigns as well as those for the U.S. Senate and house and mayoral races.

Leonard, who graduated from Northern Illinois University with a degree in journalism, is originally from the Chicago suburbs.
