Max Marcilla joined the DC News Now news team as a multimedia journalist/reporter in June 2022. He will primarily cover Northern Virginia as a member of the Chantilly news bureau.
Before joining the team, Max spent two years as the lead nightside reporter at NBC29 in Charlottesville, Va. There, he covered local government and school systems and was a fill-in anchor. While in Charlottesville, he covered the removal of the confederate statues at the center of the 2017 Unite the Right rally and was awarded for his coverage of Charlottesville City Council.
Max is a proud graduate of the University of Maryland’s Philip Merill College of Journalism, where he studied broadcast journalism.
In his spare time, Max enjoys rooting for — and often being disappointed by — his favorite New York sports teams and the Terrapins.
