Ya-Marie Sesay is a Maryland native, having grown up in Prince George’s County. As a reporter for DC News Now, she’s happy to be back in the DMV, shedding light on the untold stories in our community.
Watching the news at a young age sparked a love for storytelling and an interest in journalism. Ya-Marie pursued her passion for news at the illustrious Hampton University, then graduated with a master’s degree at the University of Maryland College Park.
Ya-Marie’s journalism career took her to the Great Lakes region, in Lansing, MI, reporting on the stories that mattered to the community. After a few short years, she returned to the DMV, bringing with her the same love for storytelling in her home state of Maryland.
