The Amuse Art and Crafts Festival took place at the Shenandoah Valley Museum this weekend.

Now in its second year, the festival featured over forty area artists.

The festival, which is one fair dedicated solely to the arts, is focused on giving the community the chance to see the talent that’s right in their backyard.

Items on display and for sale included paintings, ceramics, hand-made jewelry, photography and more. After having much success in year one, the festival moved to a larger location that accommodated a crowd of over 800 people yesterday. The festival expects an even larger turn out Sunday.

“These events, these cultural events around Winchester are really important to getting a full education in the arts, and supporting community,we want to support the families that are here. We want to give them something fun to do on a Saturday and Sunday and in return it supports the arts,” Jaimianne Amicucci of Amuse Arts Festival says.

The festival organizers hope events like this one show just how important art programs are in small communities.
