On this week’s Find Us Friday, we find WDVM’s Meteorologist Derek Bowen, live giving us a sneak peek on the weather and other happenings at Greenbrier State Park, the location for this year’s Polar Bear Plunge benefiting the Humane Society of Washington County

This week’s Find Us Friday takes us to Greenbrier State Park near Boonsboro, Maryland.
According to Noel Fridgen, with the Humane Society of Washington County (HSWC), says on Saturday, 12 January 2019, the Humane Society will host their biggest fundraiser of the year.

The 2019 Polar Bear Plunge at Greenbrier State Park is the largest fundraiser for HSWC.
According to a press release, see the link below, the HSWC took in over $36,000 gross during the fundraiser.

This year’s event should be bigger and better than last year’s with cold temperatures and snow on the way!  This weather makes plunge is the real deal!

Fridgen says the emergency personnel will be on-site along with plenty of tents to stay warm, along with hot coffee and hot chocolate.
