UPDATE (10/01/2021 10:38 a.m.) — Jeffrey Allen Burnham, 46, the suspect wanted for three murders in Cumberland and Howard County, was arrested by the West Virginia State Police in Tucker County Friday morning.

Troopers located Burnham after checking a “suspicious vehicle” in the area listed above. He was taken into custody without incident. 

These homicide cases were brought to a conclusion through law enforcement cooperation among several jurisdictions along with community support according to the Cumberland Police Department

UPDATE (10/01/2021 8:58 a.m.) — More details of 46-year-old Jeffrey Allen Burnham’s description and car license plate registration are being released by the Cumberland Police Department, as they continue to search for him for the murder of a Cumberland woman and two people in Howard County and Ellicott City.

Burnham is described as:

  • 5’3” in height
  • 170 pounds
  • Brown hair and a beard

Burnham was last known driving a red convertible Corvette with Maryland registration 8BX5121. However, CPD says the car may have a different license plate at this time.

He was last seen Sept. 30 in the Allegany County area around 7:30 in the evening driving the corvette, specifically in the Iron Mountains area in the east end of the county.

Police say Burham is still believed to be armed and dangerous and are advising the public not to come into contact with him. However, they advise anyone who sees him or the red corvette to call 911 or your local police.

CUMBERLAND, Md. (WDVM) — A Cumberland man is wanted after three murders in Allegany County and Howard County that took place between Wednesday night and Thursday afternoon.

The Cumberland Police Department first arrived at the 500 block of Fourth Street in Cumberland on Wednesday evening. Police found 83-year-old Rebecca Reynolds with “obvious trauma,” determining that she had been killed. During the investigation, officers found that Reynolds’s car had also been stolen during this murder.

46-year-old Jeffrey Allen Burnham was identified as the suspect in this crime. Police later found that he had traveled to Howard County in the stolen car, where he went to the 5300 block of Kerger Road and shot and killed two people on Thursday afternoon. Police said they believe these victims to be family members.

According to police, all three victims were targeted and previously knew Burnham. They do not currently know when the victims in Howard County were murdered.

Police said that they are on still searching for Burnham, who they believe to be traveling in the central Maryland area in a red Chevrolet Corvette. Police said that he is armed and dangerous. Anyone with any information or who sees Burnham or the car is asked to call 911 immediately.
