At the New Light Metropolitan Community Church, an act of kindness brought a man named Hulon Rowe to tears.

He received a money order check that he desperately needed because he was behind on his rent. This money order came from a churchgoer named Jarvis Brooks who did a fundraiser for Rowe on Facebook.

“I feel good now knowing I got helped. I feel blessed.” Rowe said. Rowe wasn’t always blessed. He lost his son, his wife, then because of the loss of income from his spouse, he almost lost his home.

Thanks to the kind heart of Brooks, the fundraiser exceeded the amount of money needed for Rowe to pay his rent. Now Rowe can have a happy heart even though he still misses his family.

“I miss them,” he said between tears. ” I am just glad they are with me in my heart.”
