MONTGOMERY COUNTY (DC News Now) — Montgomery County Department of Police released the name of a man Friday after someone shot him Thursday inside the Wheaton Metro Station.

Tenneson Vaughn Leslie Jr., 18, of Greenbelt died at the hospital. Police reported his death in the morning Friday, releasing Leslie’s name after that.

Investigators said the shooting, which happened shortly before 6 p.m. Thursday, after Leslie and people who were with him got into some kind of fight with another group of people on the escalator. The shooting, itself, took place on the train platform. No one else was hit by the gunfire.

Police said the people who were part of the fight ran off. As of late Friday afternoon, officers still were trying to find the person or people responsible for the shooting.

The Montgomery County Department of Police is leading the investigation, with help from the Metro Transit Police Department.
