A group of young cyclists have dedicated their summer to ride their bikes from San Francisco to the nation’s capital in an effort to break down barriers.

Organized by The Ability Experience, the Journey of Hope team arrived at the Potomac Center in Hagerstown as they begin to reach the end of their 3,000 mile adventure.

Partnering up with supportive organizations along the way, cyclists are given the opportunity to connect with locals, highlighting the abilities in all people.

“We’ve been able to raise $600,000 as a whole organization just this year for people with disabilities,” said Josh Hunter, crew member.

The young men are scheduled to reach Washington D.C. on August 11.
