A teenager from Berkeley County, West Virginia has been killed in a crash in Ohio.
Ohio state police say 18-year-old Brett Helsley of Bunker Hill, the driver, and his two passengers were killed yesterday when their vehicle rear-ended a semi-trailer on U.S. 35 west of Xenia. Police say the other two passengers did not have any identification on them and that the Ohio State Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident.
“We had a previous crash on the 35 bypass at the split traffic was backed up, that’s why this accident occurred as the traffic was stopped,” said Lt. Jay Leach.
Authorities say none of the three were wearing a seatbelt.
