Handley Regional Library kicked off summer this year with their first ever Celebration in the Garden.
The celebration included face painting, performances, outdoor games and much more. The library aims to keep kids reading throughout the summer by encouraging families to sign up for the summer reading program, check out materials and apply for library cards.
“This event is extremely important. It is our first annual Celebration in the Garden, so we hope to continue this every summer. We want to connect our library patrons to other community partners,” said youth Services Supervisor, Katie Moss.
The event was open to the public and there will be more public events throughout the summer.
