As we inch closer to celebrating Earth Day, a day to support environmental protection, the Fairfax County Government is furthering its efforts to go green by putting together an ‘Environmental Task Force.’
The task force will be compiled of supervisors along with school board members to look at ways to be environmentally friendly going forward. Certain schools will begin a pilot project with solar panels and the county wants to continue to head in a greener direction.
“Focused effort to bring our two boards together on issues that we can collaborate on, regarding energy, regarding energy sustainability, and regarding climate change issues,” said Sharon Bulova, Chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors.
The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors also passed a Fairfax Green Initiatives plan, which would develop a community-wide energy and climate action plan.
