Police are investigating a stabbing in Herndon that left one person fighting for their life. 

Twenty-year-old Denis Hernandez has been taken into custody for the incident.

Police say it happened shortly before 6 p.m. Thursday night on the 13,000 block of Parcher Avenue. The victim, who has not been identified, was taken to Reston hospital with life-threatening injuries. Nearby Herndon police officers caught Hernandez, who matched the description of the suspect, and charged him with aggravated malicious wounding.

He is being held without bond.
