Two Winchester men have been arrested and charged after Winchester police found drugs, cash, and weapons during a traffic stop.
Malik Davenport, 21, was charged with intent to distribute crack cocaine and possession of marijuana, while Azarius Sloane, 18, was charged with unlawfully carrying a concealed weapon and receipt of a stolen firearm.
Davenport and Sloane were passengers in a vehicle which police attempted to stop on Millwood Avenue just before 1 a.m. on October 12 on suspicion of the driver being under the influence. The driver, a Front Royal woman, eventually stopped on Front Royal Pike in Winchester.
When police searched the car, they found crack cocaine with a street value of $4,000, over $2,000 in cash, a gram of marijuana, and two pistols in the car. One of those weapons, an AK-47 pistol, was reportedly stolen during a burglary in Paw Paw, W.Va.
The driver of the vehicle was released with a traffic warning.
