Once a year, the Preservation of Historic Winchester meets to review the past year and preview the year to come.

This year, the 54th meeting took place at the Hexagon House. One of the biggest takeaways of the year was the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley renewing their building lease and investing in the building’s renovation. They also elected the new board of directors and presented awards.

“The main mission is to preserve the fabric of downtown Winchester and the area through preserving buildings and the story behind those buildings,” said PHW president Bruce Downing.

For the upcoming year, the PHW plans to preserve properties in Winchester not on the basis of age, but on the basis of significance.
