Four people were arrested in Front Royal, Va. on Wednesday in connection to a prostitution investigation.
The arrests came as a result of an investigation by the Front Royal Police, Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office, and Virginia State Police into a home on the 300 block of Biggs Drive in Front Royal.
Cynthia Bailey, 55, and Brandy Atkinson, 25 were arrested on charges of prostitution, maintaining a bawdy place and child cruelty. Bailey was also charged with receiving earnings made from prostitution.
According to Virginia Law, a bawdy place refers to a building in which prostitution or lewdness takes place.
Jesse Atkinson, 27, and Joshua Stamper, 24, were also charged with maintaining a bawdy place.
In an email, Front Royal Police Captain Crystal Cline said the child cruelty charges stemmed from minor children being in the home while the alleged crimes took place.
Bailey and Brandy Atkinson were released on bond from the Rappahannock-Shenandoah-Warren Regional Jail, while Jesse Atkinson is being held at the RSW Jail on a probation violation.
Stamper is being held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail in Stafford County.
All four suspects are due in court in mid-June.
