WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The Metropolitan Police Department said a man was shot on Saturday night.

MPD said that at about 11:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to 973 Randolph Street for sounds of gunshots.

When police arrived on the scene and started looking for shell casings, officers found a man who had been shot in the head and leg.

He was conscious and breathing but was having trouble speaking.
