WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — An officer-involved shooting happened around 3rd Street and Madison Drive in Northwest Saturday.
Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said two cars started firing guns at people walking around Longfellow Street NW and Georgia Avenue NW. The people walking shot back and the cars left the area.
Police found one of the cars around 3rd Street NW and Longfellow Street NW. Officers said they saw a man in the car with a weapon and they asked him to put the weapon down.
Police opened fire and he was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.
