WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said it was investigating the murder of a man that took place on Tuesday.

Police received reports of a shooting in the 1000 block of Southern Ave. SE around 3:55 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot. Medics took him to the hospital where he died.

The shooting was one of a number of shootings that took place in the city Tuesday within a short span of time.

MPD offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for each murder committed in the District of Columbia.
