A new spiritual community is coming to the Eastern Panhandle, but its members won’t be in a church building on Sunday mornings.

“We will always be meeting outdoors,” said Leah Rampy, convener & guide for Church of the Wild- Two Rivers. “We will never have an indoor place. That is part of the intent.”

Church of the Wild-Two Rivers is a new community that will meet one Sunday a month. They’ll be gathering outdoors at either Yankeur Nature Preserve in Berkeley County or Shepherd’s Spring in Sharpsburg.

“The sermon if you will, sermon is a silent walk in nature,” said Rampy. 

She believes there is an inherent beauty and spirituality about spending time in the great outdoors.

“It’s a reminder when I’m outdoors and holding this as a sacred place that everything is sacred,” she said. 

A reminder for us all to appreciate nature in ways we may never have thought of before.

The Church of the Wild- Two Rivers service will be held the first Sunday of every month, rain or shine. The first meeting will be on, May 5 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Shepherd’s Spring in Sharpsburg.
