UPDATE 12/8 3:01 p.m. — A 66-year-old man from Georgia has been charged following a shooting on Tuesday morning on I-81 that left one man dead.

Police said that Harold Rue has been charged with one count of murder after what they believe to be a road rage incident between two truckers. Both truckers had pulled off to the shoulder at the 23-mile marker northbound.

Rue fled from the scene after shooting the victim. Witnesses provided information about his tractor-trailer, and Rue was taken into custody in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Rue is being held in Pennsylvania until he is extradited back to West Virginia.

“If we are provoked. We should not get ourselves involved in situations like that are dynamic and are emotionally driven,” Nathan Harmon, Sheriff of Berkeley County said.

The victim was 29-year-old Reynaldo Gonzalez Mediavillia of Florida. Police said that Rue could face more charges in this shooting as the investigation continues.

UPDATE 12/7 6:29 p.m. — Police said that the driver of the tractor-trailer has been arrested. The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department did not provide any further information.


BERKELEY COUNTY, W.Va. (WDVM) — Police are searching for a tractor-trailer that entered Maryland after a shooting that took place on I-81 Tuesday morning.

Police said that the shooting took place at the 23-mile marker northbound. The tractor-trailer is maroon with an orange trailer. The driver is a Black man wearing a black hoodie and jeans.

Police said they do not believe there is a threat to the public. Anyone with any information should call 304-267-7000.
