Update (4/12/21 9:31 p.m.):

Police received calls around 11 a.m. on Monday of shots fired at a Motel 6 in Berkeley County. Once officers arrived at the scene witnesses reported seeing a black male with a beard and dreadlocks firing a handgun at another man in the parking lot. The suspect is believed to be in his thirties and is reported to have been wearing a white shirt and blue jeans.

Surveillance footage supported the witnesses’ claims and also showed the suspect fleeing the scene on foot before being picked up by a dark-colored vehicle which police believe to be a Pontiac G6.

The victim also left the scene in a different vehicle and has not made contact with police, and the sheriff’s office is unaware of if he was hit by any bullets.

Two vehicles were hit and damaged by the gunfire and investigators discovered bullet fragments at the scene.
