A Frederick County, Maryland principal has just recently earned the highest state-level recognition.
Hilliard was presented the award on behalf of the National Association of Elementary School Principals and the Maryland Association of Elementary School Principals.
The award honors Hilliard for exceptional instruction, student achievement and character.
“It’s not unlikely that you’ll see her answering the phones or greeting kids or writing passes for them to get back into class. She’s everywhere. And makes a valiant effort to not just know the kids names but know the parents names as they come in with the students, as well,” explained assistant principal at Centerville Elementary School, Neeley Miller.
