Schools are back in session in Pennsylvania, and one local elementary school has welcomed a new member to the family.

This year, Scotland Elementary School welcomed Wallace the dog to be their new, live mascot.

Students can write personal, handwritten letters to Wallace through their school-wide post office, and staff will help him respond back.

Unfortunately, Wallace will not stay on school grounds, but the four-legged friend will be at major school events and already attended the school’s premier open house.

Wallace belongs to a local family in the area.
