Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department, 5th District Investigative Section, have charged Brenden Lamont Dashiell, Jr., 30, of Cherry Bend Court in Germantown for the Oct. 2 armed-robbery of a 20-year-old male at the SunTrust Bank ATM located at 12605 Wisteria Drive in Germantown.
On Sunday, Oct. 2, at approximately 2:07 a.m., the victim was walking on Great Seneca Highway near Grey Eagle Court when Dashiell, Jr. approached him, displayed a handgun and ordered him to walk to the SunTrust Bank.
Dashiell, Jr. then forced the victim to withdraw an undisclosed amount of cash from the bank’s ATM.
On Oct. 6, detectives released photographs of the suspect to the media and asked for help in identifying him.
Investigators received a tip which led to the identification of Dashiell, Jr. as the suspect.
Detectives obtained a warrant for Dashiell, Jr. and arrested him at his home on Oct. 19.
Dashiell, Jr. was transported to the Central Processing Unit where he was charged with armed robbery, theft and the use of a firearm in the commission of a violent crime.
Dashiell, Jr. is being held on a $100,000 bond.
The tipster that provided information to investigators regarding Dashiell, Jr. is eligible for a cash reward from Crime Solvers of Montgomery County.
