HAGERSTOWN, Md. (WDVM) — A man was transported to the hospital after his tractor-trailer caught fire early Tuesday morning.

The call came in just before 2 a.m. at the Loves truck stop on Perini Ave., according to the State Fire Marshal.

Crews on scene say the man was asleep in his tractor-trailer when he was was alerted by another driver.

During the fire, the man cut his leg while trying to escape the truck, according to investigators.

Washington County Dispatchers say firefighters successfully pulled away a second truck after it’s tires ignited.

Over 20 firefighters responded and were able to get the blaze under control within 25 minutes.

The driver was treated for his leg injury and was released.
