Following the release of the body camera video of Tyre Nichols’ death in Memphis, some are now highlighting deadly interactions with police in Prince George’s County such as William Green’s death.

Montgomery County Police reported a 120% increase in deadly youth overdoses compared to 2021, while the number of those who survived rose by 68% during the same time period. Overall, the county witnessed a 78% spike in fentanyl overdoses.

Residents said they want to be able to safely access these trails and parks, but they also want more programs for the youth to help them stay more active and out of trouble.
